Lenses
All of our frames are priced complete with standard single vision lenses.
We pride ourselves on finding the right solution for you and explaining clearly and concisely what your choices are. Based on your prescription and previous lenses, we can advise on the most suitable lens for you.
There are many different lens choices available and it can seem a little overwhelming. Let us help…
Single Vision Lenses
These have one focus such as a reading lens.
Bifocals
These lenses have a dividing line. Most of the time, the top part of the lens is for seeing in the distance, such as when you are driving, and the bottom for close up vision such as reading.
Varifocals
Patients often prefer these lenses for cosmetic reasons as there is no dividing line, and the change between distance and near vision is smooth
Office Lenses
These are designed specifically for those who spend a lot of time working at a computer and offer clear focus for what we call desk and desk side – see your screen as well the environment immediately surrounding you clearly.

Lense Coatings
Traditionally lenses were always made of glass, but the risk of chipping and splintering made this dangerous.
More recently, plastics have been used to made spectacle lenses, and with ever improving technological advances, the plastics used are becoming harder and harder.
Thin & Light Lenses
If you have a higher prescription, these high index plastic lenses could offer the perfect solution for you.
As well as allowing you the choice of a much wider selection of frames, they look great and are more comfortable to wear being thinner and lighter than standard lenses.
Scratch Resistant
Just in case, we offer a hard coating guaranteed against accidental damage for two years.
Tints
When selecting sunglasses, you can choose from a range of coloured tints including brown, grey and green to suit your life and style.
Ultra Violet (UV) filter
A UV filter is completely clear and protects your eyes from harmful UV rays.
All of our coloured tints for sunglasses included a UV filter as standard.
Transitions
Using photochromic lenses, Transitions change based on light conditions to offer you the level of tint required to maximise your vision. These lenses react quickly and offer you full UV protection in the sun.
Anti-reflection coating
With an anti-reflective coating glare is minimised. This type of lens also means that your eyes are more clearly visible to others. This option can include a scratch resistant coating to extend the life of your lenses.
